Biography
Marie-Helene Delville is a senior scientist (DR1) at the French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS). She earned her PhD in organometallic chemistry at the University of Bordeaux 1 in 1988, a topic on which she worked until 1996. She then moved to the Institute of Condensed Matter of Bordeaux, where she is currently working. She is the head of an International Associated Laboratory (LAFICS/IFLaSSC) between India and France. Her research interests are focused on the fundamental and practical aspects involved in the synthesis of organic–inorganic colloidal nano-objects, with special emphasis on the synthesis, control of shape, surface functionalization of mineral oxide particles and sol–gel chemistry. Her research also includes their use in biomedical applications and their potential toxicity.
