Yoshitaka Okada completed his PhD degree in electronic engineering from the University of Tokyo. He is currently a Professor in the Department of New Energy at the Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology (RCAST) of the University of Tokyo. His recent research interests include epitaxial film growth of low-dimensional quantum nanostructures as well as III-V-N dilute nitrides for applications to high efficient intermediate-band and hot carrier solar cells and multijunction solar cells. Dr. Okada is a member of the IEEE, Materials Research Society (MRS) and Japan Society of Applied Physics (JSAP). He has authored and co-authored over 200 refereed journal publications and over 230 international conference presentations.

His recent research interests include epitaxial film growth of low-dimensional quantum nanostructures as well as III-V-N dilute nitrides for applications to high efficient intermediate-band and hot carrier solar cells and multijunction solar cells.

After an experience in industrial R&D, Bernard Pelissier integrated CNRS (French National Center for Scientific Research) in 1994. His research activities are mainly focused on material science and surface characterisation. He first worked on massive crystalline growth and MOCVD deposition and then integrated LTM (Laboratoire des Technologies de la Microélectronique) in 2001 as XPS surface characterisation manager. His research interest focused on materials fundamentals studies for process development and contamination studies in clean room. He has been involved in several European collaborative projects in surface characterisation. Since 2005 he is interested in quasi insitu physico-chemical characterisation using vacuum transfer. He actually manages the IMPACT Equipex project “A 300mm quasi insitu advanced characterisation platform combining pARXPS, Raman and ellipsometry using vacuum transfer”, dedicated to studies at the frontier between process development studies and upfront research

Functional S/F nanostructures for superconducting electronics

Marilena Carbone has expertise in designed synthesis and functionalization of nanoparticles and their application to nanobiomedicine and electrochemistry. Other research-lines include the engeneering of metal oxide nanoparticles for water remediation and sanitation, phytosynthesis of nanoparticles and studies of tattoo inks. Graduated in chemistry with honor, received a PhD in Materials Science, gained experience in several labs Europe-wide and currently has a chair of inorganic chemistry at the university of Rome Tor Vergata. She covered the position of guest-editor-in-chief of the Journal of King Saud University – Science, Elsevier, and of the special issue “Environment friendly renewable materials” for Materials - mdpi.

Synthesis and functionalization of nanoparticles and their application to nanobiomedicine and electrochemistry

Prof. Dr. Julia Pérez-Prieto is the leader of the Photochemical Reactivity Group at the Institute of Molecular Science of the University of Valencia. She was the President of the European Photochemistry Association from July 2016 to July 2018. She has published more than 175 papers in reputed journals and has been serving as an editorial board member of repute. Prof Pérez-Prieto’s research interests are currently focused on the design and synthesis of new photoactive materials, such as organolead halide perovskites, gold nanoparticles and gold nanoclusters, and upconversion nanoparticles to address major challenges in sensing, imaging, therapy, and sustainability.
