Nanomaterials Synthesis, Functionalisation and Advanced Characterisation

Further sessions may explore single-atom, high-entropy, and multi-metallic nanomaterials, core–shell architectures, and precision assembly through self-organisation and directed growth. Presentations will consider surface modification strategies such as click chemistry, polymer grafting, and biomolecular conjugation that tune solubility, targeting, and biological compatibility. Researchers will examine cryo-electron microscopy, atom-probe tomography, synchrotron techniques, and pair distribution function analysis for disorder and buried interfaces that are difficult to resolve. Attention will be given to machine-learning-assisted image analysis, uncertainty quantification, and FAIR data practices. Scale-up challenges including reactor design, purification, waste reduction, and cost per gram will be reviewed. Harmonised nomenclature and reporting metrics will also be encouraged.
